Girly dressed up new baby card

I apologize for being so MIA the past few months.  We've been busy selling our wintering home in AZ and buying a new one in the same 55+ community. Then I was kept busy finding a new live in caregiver for my aging parents so they can continue living in their home.  Now I feel caught up in my personal life and ready get back to my addiction; STAMPING of course!

My last post was a shower card for our Godson, Ryan and his wife Monica.  Guess what?  Ryan and Monica have been blessed with a healthy little girl named Rebecca Grace last week.  She is very petite and delicate and absolutely beautiful! Another prayer answered!  So of course I had to go shopping to buy her some girly clothes and needed a new baby card.  This is what I came up with.  My card was inspired by Cindy Elam, a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  Please check out her blog at: http://heartsdelightcards.blogspot.com/2014/03/sweet-baby-girl.html  Just copy and paste her blog site into you browser if this link doesn't take you to Cindy's blog.

One thing to note is that the banner stamp set I used is retired (oops) but you could easily substitute the banner punches in Crisp Cantaloupe and Strawberry Slush card stock!  (Both these card stock colors are retiring in June so hurry and place your order for them with me!)  Also, I used the gathered Crisp Cantaloupe and Strawberry Slush ribbon but I think if you substitute the lace I'm listing in my supply list and dye it with your stamp pads in those colors, you'll have a beautiful alternative.  I'm sad to report the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing folder is on the soon to be retired list but of course you could substitute any of the newer Embossing folders. Personally, I think the next time I make this card, I'll use the Decorative Dot Embossing Folder.  It might just be even better! What could be better than a new baby born in spring?  Lots of signs of spring here in the Northwoods of WI.  Happy stamping!  I promise I'll resume my frequent blog posts again.

Birthdays and Showers!

Hi all!  My mom is visiting us in AZ for some R&R and escape from their Wisconsin winter.  It's been 80's and sunny everyday!  She called my youngest brother, Carl to wish him a Happy Birthday yesterday and I showed her the birthday card I sent him a few days ago.  Our Godson, Ryan and his wife Monica are expecting their first baby in May and I received a baby shower invitation.  Unfortunately, we won't be back in WI yet so I ordered a gift from her registry and sent her a baby shower card to let her know the gift is on it's way because I can't attend the shower. ;(  I'll be home to see their new baby though!!

My Dad is able to remain at home thanks to two wonderful 24/7 caregivers, Emily and Peter so I designed thank you cards for each of them to convey my gratitude!

This card was made for a very special friend's birthday Jan 13 (Happy birthday Cindy!) Cindy feeds the birds and has multitudes of birds visiting her yard every day! I made this card with this beautiful chickadee which I credit Ann Fitzgerald's a fellow Stampin'Up! demonstrator tutorial that you can check out here http://annscreativemoments.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/chickadee-instructions9.pdf.  Thank you Ann for a complete tutorial complete with templates using the build a bird punch.  I love Chickadees as they are always in the Wisconsin Northwoods in the winter.  They stick it out with us humans. They always make me smile! "Hidy Ho Deb!" her signature start to her tutorial videos.  :)

My brother, Matt and Pam had an anniversary to celebrate Dec 6.  Their wedding was a beautiful Christmas wedding with emerald green bridesmaids dresses and all the Christmas decorations in the church.  Absolutely stunning.  This card was inspired by Deb Valder another fellow Stampin'Up! demonstrator.  Deb is one of my favorite demos and her tutorials are so easy to find.  Thank you Deb for letting us CASE (copy and share everything) from your wonderful tutorials and tips.  Her tutorial is here
My little sister slipped on some ice in the wee hours of New Years 2015 and broke her wrist.  I wanted to make a special card to cheer her up.  I'm sorry I can't credit the stamper who inspired this card but I changed it up almost completely except the owl and broken wing. I learned of Shirley's injury by her husband, John's facebook post entitled "Momma's got a broken wing" so I thought this card was perfect for her!
